HOW TO RUN A WORKSHOP

FAQ’S

 
  • You’ve had a client book in with you for a Brand Strategy project:

    • Send through the first email template outlining what the workshop will cover and when they can expect more information

    • Confirm the date and time of the workshop

  • Go through all the Miro tutorials and the workshop walk-through video if you haven’t already. Do some background research on the business and prepare the following:

    • Workshop Miro board, removing/updating any relevant sections

    • Confirm the workshop participants

    • Decide on the video call platform you will use (e.g. Zoom)

    • Test the meeting and workshop board links

    This is a great time to send through the second email template with links to tutorials for your client.

  • It’s good practice to send a reminder to your client, and you can use the third email template to do this. This will include a link to the board and to the video call.

    It’s worth testing the links again, just to make sure.

    Set up your space so you’re not rushed right before the workshop starts.

  • Now it’s time to run the workshop! Jump on the video call with your client and have your workshop miro board open at the same time. Get there early and be prepared to offer some help if your client is having any troubles.

    A good tip is to have a glass of water with you when presenting and keep a notebook and pencil handy.

  • The workshop is completed, and it’s time to summarise the information into a document to send to your client. The workshop matches up with the summary template so filling it in is straightforward.

    Send this over to your client, along with an exported version of the workshop if they want it.

  • You’ll use the information you’ve learned through the workshop and summary to develop some creative directions for your client.

  • We all start somewhere, and with this bundle you’ll be starting mile in front of where I did.

    The templates are easy to use with guided information taking you through things one step at a time.

  • Don’t worry! I’ve taught and presented in front of large groups of people and I still get scared. The secret is to practice, either with a friend or family member or even on your own.

    BUT maybe you just don’t want to do it. Simply send the Strategy Questionnaire to your client instead.

  • The Brand Strategy Questionnaire has you covered! It is less intimidating for clients who feel they don’t yet have the insights into their business to undertake a workshop. It also works great for clients with a smaller budget.

  • Yes! And I encourage you to! Going through the workshop or questionnaire will give you some great insights into your business and will help you practice.

  • The workshop is run through Miro, an online whiteboard app and while there are paid options the template works perfectly with the free version.

  • The strategy activities included in the workshop and the questionnaire have guided instructions so it’s simple to walk your client through each. The workshop also includes examples for each activity to get your client thinking along the right track.
